The Maryland State Culture of Life Activities Program helps our members and their families to grow in our faith, to serve our church, and to support the Church in her commitment to the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.

Silver Rose Program 2014
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Program began in 1960 as a project of the Columbian Squires of North America to honor the Blessed Virgin under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. The program has continued since then as a project in several jurisdictions. Each year, a Silver Rose "honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe and reaffirming our commitment to the sanctity of human life", is carried by Knights from Canada, through the United States, and into Mexico to arrive at the Basilica in Monterrey, Mexico on December 12, Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
This year, six Silver Roses will travel through North America exemplifying Knights of Columbus devotion to Our Lady and commitment to the Culture of Life. One of the Silver Roses arrives in Maryland from New Jersey the beginning of November and will remain in Maryland for three weeks, from November 2, 2014 until November 23, 2014 when the Icon will be delivered to Knights in the District of Columbia. The Silver Rose will be hosted by 21 councils in Maryland and each day a Marian Devotion Prayer Service (including a rosary, readings and litany), will be said by the Knights, families, and members of the local parishes hosting the Icon. Members of the Fourth Degree Color Corps are also encouraged to participate at each of the prayer services.Your Donations are Saving Lives! Twelve Ultrasound Machines in Maryland & Counting
Statistics reveal that most women who consider
abortion choose life after seeing an ultrasound image of their child.
These families need your help!
The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council is teaming with local Knights on a major initiative to purchase ultrasound machines for the Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Our success with this program in Maryland has enabled us to get the per-unit cost of these machines down to $22,000. Supreme Council will cover half of this cost. The first several machines purchased in Maryland under this program are already in place and saving lives!
Donations made payable to Sonogram Fund of SMC #1470 Charities, Inc., may be mailed to: Jerry Hicks, Maryland State Council Culture of Life Director, 24582 Spriggs Ct, Hollywood, MD 20636.
